Since the death of my beloved Dell Laptop also know by many as “Hell Laptops” I have been searching for a reliable Desktop to use as my Home Computer. Why a desktop and not another laptop? Everybody wants a Laptop. Most also want to believe (more importantly want others to believe) their lives require serious portable power. When it comes down to it there are very few who require a powerfull laptop. Some examples would be Business Owners, Tech Managers, Graphic Gurus(Photo People) or the Serious Entrepreneur. Of course there are thousands of reasons to own a powerfull laptop. Having said that, as far as a loptop goes I think 90+% of us would be just fine with something that can simply write documents and access the internet.
Instead of paying $2,000 plus dollars to win bragging rights amongst my peers I did a little shopping around and found a $600 dollar computer that blows most of my competion out of the water, the “Gateway GT5628″. This would be a good time for many to reflect if they consider themselves in the material competition. Anybody else have a “Intel Core 2 Quad Processor”? I didin’t think so! What does it mean to have a “Quad Processor”? Almost nothing right now, Give it a year or so and it will. That’s right folks I’m on the tip of the technological spear!Lol
If your wondering why it is called the “Woot Computer” check out www.woot.com One of the coolest retail sites on the www.

Ah, the Gateway GT5628 — the absolute zenith of microprocessing power! I can’t say for sure whether or not you’re actually on the tip of the technological “spear” of course; most stock computers are toting the Core 2 duo/Quad processor.
What it really comes down to is this: what’s your endgame in terms of usage? Gaming? If so, it’s fair to say that most games aren’t yet multithreaded, which means that only one of your processors will be utilized. These days your GPU is going to be the primary decision maker as to whether or not your games will be preforming well.
If you’re into video editing/photo editing, or mammoth load processing those processors will help out greatly — seems to me that most hardcore applications have been updated to take advantage of the extra cores.
Otherwise, sounds great. By the way, looks like comments are turned on now
